HW Test Engineer, Vaisala Oyj, Vantaa

In this role, you will work in a project environment within a team focused on weather measurement instruments and their product development, part of Vaisala’s Weather and Environment business unit. Your workday will consist of all stages of product testing, including design, testing, and documentation. There may be multiple tests running simultaneously, and depending on the nature of the test, they will progress through different phases. Performance testing of the product will take place in test simulators under various conditions, after which you will document your observations and results in test reports.

Vaisala treasures face-to-face collaboration with their colleagues and your work place is mainly located in Vantaa. However, there are also times when remote work is possible.

• Develop a new test station, integrating measurement instruments and climate chambers together using LabView
• Handle test products and perform laboratory work
• Solve multidisciplinary problems together with team of experts

• Suitable technical academic background (e.g. electronics)
• Previous professional experience from laboratory work and electronics (design and setup of experiment, testing, installation etc.)
• Basic understanding of electronics and data communication busses
• Interest in measurement technology and weather phenomena
• Experience in LabView programming
• Excellent data analyzing skills
• Fluent English both written and spoken

Previous experience in product development and testing tools, an understanding of embedded systems, as well as interest in different devices, and assembly will be considered as an advantage. Network knowledge will be useful when testing assemblies that include routers, GPS watches, switches, etc.
