About the role

In this role, you will develop automation solutions for Sandvik’s mobile machinery, enabling safe cooperation between automated and manual machines, as well as between humans and machines in shared work environments. You will design innovative user interface (HMI) solutions to enhance interaction between operators and machines, ensuring safety and efficiency. You’ll take systems from concept to testing, utilizing simulations and hands-on trials at Sandvik's own test mine located at Tampere. Collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners, you will drive the planning, implementation, and integration of solutions.

Work tasks

  • Design and implement solutions that enable safe cooperation between automated and manual machinery and seamless interaction between humans and machines in shared environments.
  • Develop innovative methods to improve operator-machine interaction for enhanced safety and efficiency.
  • Create solutions that enable real-time monitoring of machine performance and processes for operators.
  • Drive system development from initial concepts to testing phases.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to define user requirements, refine and evaluate their feasibility, and conceptualize solutions in collaboration with product development.

We are looking for

  • A relevant educational background (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree).
  • Strong ability to process and understand large, complex systems.
  • Prior experience working with mobile machinery or a genuine interest in this field is considered a significant advantage. Experience in project work is also beneficial for this role.

The selected candidate will be required to undergo drug testing and a health examination.
