About the role

In this role, you will be part of a team focused on the development and testing of weather measurement instruments within Vaisala’s Weather and Environment business unit. Your responsibilities will span across all stages of product testing, including planning, hands-on hardware testing, safety and compliance verification, data analysis, and documentation. The work often involves running several test setups in parallel, each at different phases—from early concept validation to final verification. In addition to technical testing, you will play a role in customer-facing activities such as supporting field testing, gathering user feedback, and assisting in troubleshooting. This position requires a solution-oriented mindset, as you’ll often be involved in root cause analysis and cross-functional problem solving together with R&D, production, and quality teams. Most of your work will take place on-site in Vantaa, where Vaisala values face-to-face collaboration. However, the role also allows for occasional remote work depending on project needs.

Work tasks

• Contribute to the development of weather measurement instruments through planning, hardware testing, and documentation.
• Perform hardware, safety, and compliance testing while managing multiple simultaneous testing and problem solving activities
• Support customer collaboration, field testing, and cross-functional problem solving.

We are looking for

• Suitable technical academic background (e.g. electronics)
• Previous professional experience from laboratory work and electronics (design and setup of experiment, testing, installation etc.)
• Basic understanding of electronics and data communication busses
• Interest in measurement technology and weather phenomena
• Knowledge in analyzing data and report findings in a clear way
• Fluent English both written and spoken Previous experience in product development and testing tools, an understanding of embedded systems, as well as interest in different devices, and assembly will be considered as an advantage.
